Muriya was established in Oman in March 2006, as a joint venture between Egypt’s Orascom Hotels & Development (70 percent), and Omran (30 percent, a government owned company). Muriya is investing in four major projects in Oman namely ‘Jebel Sifah’ and ‘Salalah Beach’ – two integrated tourism complexes, City Walk in Muscat and an exclusive eco-lodge on Al Sodah Island.

The Group offers hotels, private villas and apartments, leisure facilities such as golf courses and marinas along with all related facilities and supporting infrastructure. ODH is proceeding with an attractive pipeline of projects under development in Egypt, Morocco, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland.
Orascom Development operates two successful flagship towns, El Gouna and Taba Heights (both in Egypt), and has secured, subject to certain conditions, or is about to secure, land banks of approximately 127 million square meters.
Omran was formed in 2005 as a fully Government owned company. With its partners, it develops and facilitates the construction of a wide range of tourist developments, including resort villas, conference facilities, leisure resorts, golf courses and hotels as well as the refurbishment of some of Oman’s major existing hotels.
Omran, formally known as The Oman Tourism Development Company (OTDC), and is the government’s executive investment and development arm in the tourism/real estate sector.
Omran achieves its key goals as a developer in its own right, or via effective joint ventures for major projects. Currently, Omran is managing the development of over 10 resort-style projects with a capital value exceeding US$ 10 billion, with project expected to be completed within 5 years.
